Step inside “City South”, Melbourne, 1929, and picture yourself in the world of Detective Inspector Jack Robinson. Let your imagination run wild as you see Constable Hugh Collins sneaking a call to his beloved Dot Williams from the rotary telephone at the precinct’s front desk. Peek into DI Jack Robinson’s office, where he sits behind his desk, pouring over stacks of files as he searches for a clue to his newest case – one which he will no doubt later discuss at length with his unofficial investigative partner, Miss Fisher, over a drink or two at Wardlow House. DI Robinson leans back in his leather office chair, fingers laced above his head – his freshly pressed dress shirt and three-piece suit in immaculate form. This is his domain. Hard work, an unwavering moral compass, and unflinching dedication to lawful methodology are his tools.

Detective Inspector Jack Robinson. First appearing in the novel, “Cocaine Blues”, (1989), written by author Kerry Greenwood, DI Jack Robinson has appeared in every novel in the “Phryne Fisher” detective series, which consists of 20 novels to date. While happily married in the books, DI Jack Robinson’s character was reinvented as a love interest for Miss Fisher in the highly successful television show titled, “Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries”.
